You’ve got to read this

Welcome to the kick-off of the first full week of trading for 2009.

Since my strategy for trading the first part of this year has already been outlined in previous columns, I’m going to suggest two must-read articles today for anyone in the market:

The Street has already started buzzing about Barron’s article from this past weekend warning of a possible bubble with Treasury Bonds — and it’s most definitely worth a read.

And for those who wonder why I’m so passionate about doing my own due diligence about every investment, take a look at The Wall Street Journal’s article this morning about the Madoff ponzi scheme. Despite other investment groups tipping-off the government that something seemed askew with Madoff — and the SEC investigating Madoff 8 times in 16 years — the scam continued.

It’s just one of many reasons why I consistently caution readers of this blog:

Don’t base any of your investment decisions on anything you read here — do your own due diligence — or at least enough research to pick the right professional to do it for you.
