Recession…. What Recession?

According to MarketWatch, Clear Channel Communications has settled it’s months-long litigation and has agreed to be acquired by Bain Capital Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners for $36 a share.
In other interesting news, the Wall Street Journal has an interesting story regarding some economists who are saying there will be no recession, as well as another story about Carl Icahn’s growing interest in Yahoo.
And in even more interesting news — at least to me — despite the fact CNBC still ranks me in the top 16.5 percent of those participating in the CNBC portfolio challenge contest — the have completely messed up my portfolio. First they cancelled mine, and everyone else’s, commodiites trades — and it appears we won’t be able to trade commodities at all during the contest. And then they failed to execute all of my buy & sell trades I entered prior to the opening bell yesterday. I emailed them with a suggestion they cancel the contest until they work out all the kinks in their system.
